About Me
My name is Liesl Cosh
As a painter, I am driven by a deep passion for storytelling through expressive, emotionally resonant works that explore identity, culture, and the complexities of being human. I work primarily in oils, but also love watercolours. I am obsessed with texture, colour and light. Alongside my practice, I work as an art mentor and advocate for inclusive creativity, dedicated to making art spaces welcoming, accessible, and empowering for all.

My Story
My journey as a painter began just five years ago. From the outset I found myself drawn less to the finished outcome and more to the process itself. I love the physicality of paint, the movement of the brush, and the way each work gradually reveals its own direction. Inspired by impressionist and expressive traditions, my practice is guided by an intuitive approach that prioritises feeling over precision, allowing colour, gesture, and energy to shape the work as it unfolds.

Alongside my own work, I am passionate about helping others connect with their creativity. I offer workshops, custom group art experiences, and 1:1 and small group mentoring, creating inclusive, supportive spaces—especially for people with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds—to explore, experiment, and build confidence.

At the heart of everything I do is a belief that creativity belongs to everyone, and a commitment to making art accessible, welcoming, and genuinely inclusive.
