Italian Series

This series of oil paintings, produced in 2025-2026 for That's Enrico restaurant in Lobethal, depicts alfresco dining scenes inspired by moments observed in Italy. Painted loosely with broad brushstrokes and thick applications of oil paint, the works focus on strong contrasts of light and shadow, bright illuminated spaces, and the atmosphere of shared meals. The figures are intentionally depersonalised, shifting attention toward the overall mood, movement and experience of eating and drinking together with friends and family.
